Spot breakouts

Have you noticed small patches of pimples on your face? Maybe you see small spots that you have not seen before. You might be experiencing a minor breakout on your face.

What exactly happens when pimples form on our face? A blockage occurs when a hair follicle becomes clogged with excess oil which then leads to inflammation. This blockage results in a pimple. While not as severe as acne – which is a medical condition – small breakouts on our face can be bothersome and uncomfortable. There are many different scenarios that can lead to this blockage.

If you often have small breakouts of spots, they may be attributable to our own habits, but don’t worry, it’s easy to make small changes to our lives that will prevent them, although for more serious cases of acne, you should always consult a physician.

Here are a few ways to mitigate breakouts:

Are you drinking enough water? Sometimes when we do not drink enough water, our skin can breakout. If your skin is dehydrated, it can trigger your body to produce more oil. This can cause an excess of oil in our skin which can result in spots.

Applying moisturizer in the morning and evening before bed is crucial. When our skin is dry, the body will release more oil. This can cause small pimples to form on our skin. Make sure you choose the correct moisturizer for your skin type.

Finding breakouts of spots on other parts of your body? Make sure you change your clothes after a workout as wearing gym clothes for too long after a sweaty session can cause friction. Excess oil and dirt can also clog your pores resulting in pimples. To avoid this, be sure to change out of your exercise clothes as soon as possible and be sure to rinse any problem areas thoroughly with soap and water.
