Stress can refer to simple worries, mental anguish, and family strain; it can refer to pain associated with an illness, life crises, or any other life pressure. Many of us experience day-to- day stress. Here are some helpful tips to cope with stress:

  • Communicate with friends and relatives about your stress. Sharing your experiences with people you confide in is beneficial.
  • Write in a diary about your stressful experiences and their reasons.  Eat sensibly, and avoid stimulants such as caffeine containing beverages.
  • Engage in activities you like.
  • Regular exercise elevates mood.
  • Attending classes aimed at building self-esteem and self-confidence can be helpful.
  • Practice mental and physical exercises for relaxation.
